The Goddess Shrine Gala Event

Come along to our Gala Night, and help raise money for The Goddess Shrine.

When? Saturday 17th February, 6pm - 10pm (and probably later)

What do I wear? This is a Black Gown Event (you know, just like black-tie)... Dress to impress, it is Gala after all. The best dressed Daughter of or Son of the Goddess will be honoured with a gift.

Who can come? All supporters of The Goddess Shrine. Women and men are equally welcome to attend this event.

What will happen? The Goddess honouring film, Mists of Avalon, will be shown during the night.

There will be a real-money auction of Goddess Items, donated by local businesses, to raise money for The Shrine.

Do I need to bring food? Refreshments will be served. A light dinner including fancy-pants Hors D'Oeuvres, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. People with specific food requirements should speak to the organisers ahead of time, to make sure you are accommodated for. Vegetarian, wheat free and dairy free options will be provided without question.

What's the cost of this event? The Gala event is free to anyone who has one of our official tokens. For your donation of $35 you will receive a beautiful complimentary Goddess Shrine token for your own use (on altars or as a pendant etc...). Show your token at the door to enter the Gala Event... Are you a member of GAIA? If so, your token will only cost you $30! Tokens need to be purchased no later than 14th February only from The Goddess Shrine.

Do I need to bring anything with me? The film is three hours long. There will be two intermissions during the film, however if you are not used to sitting for long periods, you may choose to bring a cushion to make your seating more comfortable. You may also wish to bring money for the auction. As it stands Auction items include: A cloak (choose from five at Lunation) made by Greenlord Cosmic Design, Moon Rites books by Michelle Royce, Books by Stacey DeMarco, Goddess Statue from Lunation, Massage Vouchers from Therapy Masters, Shiatsu Vouchers from Brett Jenkins, a crystal and silver wand from White Magic, Spiral Dance CDs from Spiral Dance... View them in the Lunation Temple from Wednesday 14th February.

How many people will be there? There is a limit of 30 tokens available. First in best dressed...

The Goddess Shrine Wishes Rite

Held every lunation, to send the wishes of the visitors to The Shrine to the Goddess with a water ceremony.

Weekly Shrine Meditation Circle

Starting in April, 2007.

Most Saturday mornings.

The Goddess Shrine is open for group meditation most Saturday mornings, beginning April 2007. Come to The Shrine to share your devotion with others who are like minded. Meditation consists of an half hour Silent Meditation, followed by discussion and refreshments. Participants are encouraged to use this time and space for their experimentation for group Goddess work. Feel free to bring along guided meditations you have found or written, invocations you wish to share with the group etc.

When: Most Saturday mornings, 10am-11am, beginning April 2007. Meditation starts promptly at 10:15am. Please ensure you arrive by 10:10am at the latest, or you will not be admitted.

*There will occasionally be dates throughout the year where The Shrine Meditation can not be held, due to other commitments of the Lunation Temple. Any such dates will be posted here.

* Lunation Store is not 'open for business' during the Meditation Circle. Sometimes the doors may be closed at the stairs or at the entrance to Lunation, but not locked. The doors to Lunation will be locked at 10:15am for the Silent Meditation, and reopened at 11am when the store opens for business.

Cost: $5. This is to cover the cost of refreshments, and the hire of the Lunation Temple Space for the hour. Any money left over will be put into the donation box on The Shrine.

Bookings: There is no need to book for this event. Just show up on the day.

Please Note: *Children are welcome, but are expected to remain silent during the half hour meditation. Nursing mothers are welcome with babes also.
