honouring the Sacred Feminine Divine

The Goddess

To honour the Goddess is to honour the Sacred Feminine Divine.

This concept is beyond religion. It is about seeing the world and the Universe in a state of balance. Where there is a Masculine Divine principle, there must be the Feminine Divine.

Many people believe that there was once a time in our culture where Woman was imagined as Holy... Sacred... Divine.

In today's society, although many women are 'religious', contemporary Western Religions don't offer many ways for women to develop identity in relation to the Divine. Similarly, when the Masculine Divine figure does not identify with principles of nurture, sensitivity and emotional understanding (among other values) it may be difficult for men to gain depth through Divinity. By identifying the Goddess as The Sacred Feminine Divine, we open the path to deeper understanding for all.

The Goddess has many faces: Young Maiden, Mother, Wise Crone; She is the loving nurturer we see in Nature as well as Her Destructive Force. The Goddess is the Mother of the Gods that made the Gods. The Goddess has been given so many names, that She is also known as the Nameless One. Her appearance is exactly as you imagine Her to be.

Devotees honour the Goddess to connect with Her Force. Her loving light is available to all of us, just as is her deepest depths...

There is no 'one' way to have a relationship with the Goddess. She has no dogma. She lives in a Circle where all are equal.

All relationships with the Goddess are Sacred. To connect with the Goddess is to connect with our true nature of self, because She is the Essence of all.

As an African proverb states: "Surely God must be a woman, for it is she who can give birth."
